Recruiters like Andrew Horsley say there is a “constant stream” of Australians wanting to return home to raise a family after being away for three or more years.
“Either husband, wife, or both, have deep connections here and Australia is where they want to raise a family – rather than in England or China”, says Horsley, director of executive search consultancy Horsley & Company.
“Among senior executives there are many who want to return to the home they have maintained – their difficulty is getting a job at the right level.”
For others, points our Horsley, the wish to call Australia home is a bit more tricky. “I often see foreigners wanting to work here”, he adds. “But its more difficult if there is no company support for them”.
